Contact details and business information you give us in a seller enquiry, buyer registration, partner application or general enquiry — for example your name, role, email address, telephone number, and information about the business you are selling or seeking.

Basic technical information created when you use the website, such as pages viewed, which we use to understand how the site is used.

To assess and respond to your enquiry; to qualify sellers and buyers; to identify potential acquirers who may be suited to a seller's business; to manage an engagement where one is agreed; and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Our lawful bases are your consent where you have given it, the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and developing the service, and compliance with legal obligations.

Information about a business being sold is disclosed to a prospective buyer only in accordance with the seller's instructions and, where identifying information is involved, under agreed confidentiality terms.

We use service providers for email, hosting and internal record keeping, who process information on our instructions. Where a partner firm is involved in a specific transaction, information is shared only with the seller's agreement.

We may share information where required by law or to protect our legal rights. We do not sell personal information.

OffSell may share underlying systems and records with BusinessWanted.com, a separate and independent brand, in order to operate buyer verification, acquisition criteria and matching. Shared records are not public, and information identifying a business being sold is not shared without the seller's agreement.

Enquiry and registration information is kept for as long as needed to respond and, where relevant, for as long as your sale process remains live. Records relating to a completed engagement are kept for the period required for legal, tax and regulatory purposes. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict our use of it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Write to privacy@offsell.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are in the United Kingdom and unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

We use only the cookies necessary for the website to function and, where you agree, basic analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies.
